eFCASTM has native protocol drivers built into the product to talk to hundreds of industrial EFMs, PLCs, RTUs and other devices. eFCAS Scheduler automatically collects both historical and real-time data from almost any industrial device. In all cases, eFCAS attempts to use device-specific protocol and then stores that data in a secure database. This data, which includes real-time, EFM flow data, gas analysis, events, characteristics and more is then available to the enterprise.

Electronic Flow Meter (EFM) Data from all meters are viewed in exactly the same format, regardless of the variety of brands or models of the flow computers. All original data is kept in it's native form and held indefinitely or until otherwise noted.

The eFCAS Suite of tools allows companies to effortlessly collect, edit, audit, report, and make production and measurement data available to the enterprise and to other applications within the enterprise.

The eFCAS Client allows for management of the large volume of measurement data collected from the enterprise. It also allows the end-users to configure the scheduling of measurement data in an easy to understand interface.

Communication Groups (Com Groups) are used to setup sets of meters that have the same communication parameters or meters that may have communication paths that may collide if they occur at the same time. The Com Group can be configured where all tasks run in parallel or one after the other (serially). This is easily configurable through the interface below.

Scheduling is done through an easy process of creating tasks. Each task has a schedule configuration and a task description. The task configuration is similar for most models of flow computers.

The eFCAS Scheduler has Advanced Scheduling Protocols and will preempt EFM History Schedules if a higher priority Real-time Schedule needs to run on the same Communication Group. Furthermore, a Real-time write will preempt a Real-time read or an EFM Schedule if they are running at the same time and on the same Communication Group.

Users can add a new schedule item or copy one that is similar to the one needed, then easily set the schedule to the appropriate Days, Hours, Minutes the task should be executed. For example: the user can set the schedule to run every other day, every four hours, and five minutes after the hour and the driver will collect only the configured audit trail information that has not been inserted into the database at that time.

eFCAS Communication Drivers collect audit trail information automatically and store the data in the eFCAS secure database. Most eFCAS Drivers are written to use the native protocol of the device manufacturer. The drivers are usually created to communicate with all devices of the given manufacturer. Many different drivers are available, and if one is not listed, CPU® would be pleased to create it.

Secure Storage is accomplished by strict adherance to API 21.1, 21.2, Directive 17, and EPAP regulations. The user can choose from a proven backend database called Firebird which comes with the eFCAS purchase price or the user can use Microsoft SQL Server for the Real-time history storage.
